Aikido in Kyoto
Free Trial Class & Dojo Visit
If you are considering joining, you are welcome to observe or try a free trial class to experience the atmosphere and training at our dojo.
During the trial class, we focus on basic techniques suitable for beginners, so even those with no experience can participate with confidence.
Please wear comfortable clothes suitable for exercise and visit us according to the training schedule.
It is recommended to contact us in advance, but you are also welcome to come directly without a reservation.
We look forward to practicing Aikido together with you here in Kyoto.
How to Join & Required Fees
After participating in a trial class, if you wish to join, please fill out the application form and submit it.
- Admission Fee: 5,500 yen (one-time)
- Monthly Fee: 6,600 yen (prepaid, per month)
- Dojo Membership Fee: 5,000 yen (per year)
- Sports Insurance: Required for all members (amount depends on age)
– Sports Insurance (Annual)
- ・Age 64 and under: 1,850 yen
- ・Age 65 and over: 1,200 yen
- ・Junior High School students & under: 800 yen
※ If you plan to take a break for more than one month, please submit a leave of absence form in advance.
– Dojo Membership Fee (Annual)
To help maintain and improve our dojo, we ask all members to contribute an annual Dojo Membership Fee.
This fee helps cover the cost of facility maintenance, equipment replacement, cleaning, instructor honorariums, and event organization.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
About Training Uniform
We recommend wearing an Aikido uniform (dogi), but judo or karate uniforms are also acceptable.
You can purchase one after joining. We can introduce you to martial arts suppliers if needed.
Dan Grading Examinations
After joining, you may take a grading examination once you meet the required number of practice days and skill level set by the Osaka Aikikai Headquarters. Ranks and titles are officially certified through the Aikikai Hombu Dojo (Tokyo).
Visitor Training
- Osaka Aikikai Members: 550 yen per session (up to 2 sessions per month)
- Non-Osaka Aikikai Members: 2,200 yen per session (up to 2 sessions per month)
※ If you wish to train more than 2 times per month, we kindly ask you to register as a regular member.
